FORGED COMPONENTS FOR INDUSTRIAL EQUIPMENT
LBX forges crucial components for industries: from steelworks to nuclear power plants, their pieces support heavy cranes at ports and secure locks along rivers and harbors.
Main products:

Crane wheels of overhead cranes, with or without ancillary equipment (bearings, seals, screws, nuts);

Guiding and translation crane wheels with no, one or two flanges.
Specific features:

Special steel profile, crafted with RIMLOS®, a Lucchini RS advanced steel grades to improve performance;

Hardness depth until 35 mm from tread, ensuring durability and reliability in demanding environments.
ADVANCED SOLUTIONS SPECIFICALLY DESIGN FOR YOUR NEEDS
SURA®
Our thermostable (i.e. “low-stress”) wheels are designed to limit deformations and internal stresses caused by thermal loads during tread braking.
RESILIENT WHEELS
Our resilient wheel has been optimized to resist wear and tear, improving Light Rail Vehicle safety and the Total Life Cycle Cost. Consisting of basic components such as a tyre, a wheel centre, a retaining ring and rubber rings/blocks, it can withstand increasing axle loads and can also easily accommodate the noise absorbing Syope® system.
PROPRIETARY STEEL GRADES
We provide a complete range of proprietary steel grades with specific features, improving wheel performance and properties.
SMARTSET® FOR CBM
SMARTSET® uses Starcrack algorithms for optimal maintenance intervals and real-time safety monitoring. SMARTSET® sensors detect axle stress levels, warning of potential critical track locations.
ANTI-BALLAST PROTECTIONS
We stand out for the development and the engineering of a full range of solutions to ensure the appropriate protection of wheelsets far all service conditions.
SYOPE®
Our noise-reduction solutions from the Syope® family are designed to significantly reduce wheel noise emissions vibration for the very high-speed trains, thereby limiting the impact of noise pollution on people and ecosystems.
EXPERTISE IN MAINTENANCE
VPI-EMG qualified workshop for wheelset repairs.
LBX is a maintenance shop for any type of wheelsets, including those equipped with components like axle boxes, bearings or brake discs, as well as providing resilient wheel overhauls.
STATE OF THE ART MACHINING LINE
With a plant surface of 10.000 m2 and two machining lines, LBX can produce up to 15,000 pieces per year.
The machining lines includes:
